Don't miss this Open Music Member Meeting in Los Angeles. Agenda will include: critical updates and decisions on governance bylaws and the membership agreement; working group breakout sessions on tech/protocols, implementation/adoption and education/advocacy, plus demos by members and other startups.

9:45 am - Keynote Conversation with Artists

  • Steve Vai, Three-Time Grammy Award Winning Guitarist
  • Holly Palmer, Singer/Songwriter and Solo Artist
  • David Rosenthal, Keyboardist and Musical Director
  • Adam Dorn, Songwriter/Musician and Producer
  • Panos A. Panay, Berklee VP of Innovation & Strategy, will host the conversation.

10:30 am - Updates and Discussion on Open Music and the Music Modernization Act

  • Vickie Nauman, Founder, CrossBorderWorks / Advisor, Open Music Initiative Advisor will facilitate the discussion.

11:00 am - Presentation on DDEX Standards

  • Mark Isherwood, Secretariat, Digital Data Exchange (DDEX) will give an overview of relevant DDEX standards, and how these complement the work of Open Music.

11:45 am - Introduction to Open Music Governance

12:00 pm - Lunch

12:30 pm - Review of Open Music Bylaws, Membership Agreement & Board Structure

  • Thomas Hardjono, Technical Director, MIT Internet Trust Consortium, will present on governance best practices.
  • Mike McGrath, Associate, Ropes & Gray LLC, will present the proposed bylaws.

All members and friends of Open Music are encouraged to join us, and contribute to the discussion. The Summit is free for Open Music members, artists and students. Other industry stakeholders are asked to pay a cost-neutral registration fee of $50.
